A pure silk Narayan Peth saree in a colour considered auspicious. I clearly remember my uncle having a silk dhoti in this colour which he wore while performing poojas. (Saudamini Deshpande, do you remember?) Had been to my mothers place for lunch on the occasion of ‘shravan shukrawar’. Needless to add had loads of yummy food all single handedly cooked by Amma. She is by far the best cook I’ve seen – she cooks with so much love with an intent to fondly feed everyone and not as a job!!
