This time when he brought these checkered pattern silk sarees (Thanks to WhatsApp), she sent me pictures of sarees. When I saw this combination of pure violet and parrot green in the current trends of checks, I loved it. This one is the simplest form of an Uppada saree. I went to college 100 km from Uppada area. During those days weavers used to come to homes to sell mostly their cotton handloom sarees, which is what they were known for locally. Didn\u2019t even know they made silk sarees, up until their revival in the recent years.
