It was the Maha Panchami night, and I was having a gala time with friends and ‘Shokhi’ while attending a cultural show.<\/p>\n
The wonderfully choreographed dance show was all about portraying the original story of \u2018Mahishasuramardini \u2019- the mythical tale of Goddess Durga & Ashura, how Devi Durga was created, how she fought with Mahisha and got victory over Mahishasura. Actually by killing the Mahisha,she got the name Mahishasuramardini (The one who killed demon Mahisha). As Goddess save the world from the demon, Durga came to be known as the Mother of the Universe……..
\nThe voice of Birendra Krishna Bhadra and his Mahalaya recitation in the background added a touch of nostalgia.<\/p>\n
Since it was an evening event, I preferred wearing a dark blackish -olive ghicha embedded with vertical thread work in the entire body. The border was bright red, which gave the look of Puja & festivity.
\nThe talk of the evening became my leaf designed, golden neck-piece \/ jewellery set.
\nHowever, the climax of the evening was a selfie with Goddess \u2018Durga\u2019 !!! <\/p>\n
