\nThis was my first saree gift from my husband on the occasion of Diwali 2004, and I wore it in evening when he had visited to meet my parents formally. I had helped him before in buying a saree for his pati (paternal grandmother) who was in south India, as he wanted to gift her something after started working in North India. And I had selected a saree from Nalli in Connaught place, and he with no clue on any other saree shop, had gone to pick this saree for me from the same shop \ud83d\ude42
\nI love the red, maroon, pink shades in this silk saree that gets highlighted very well with a beige colored border.
\nOne of my favorite sarees.
\nTo celebrate the occasion, I prepared Sabudana Thalipeeth after learning it from subbuskitchen.com, Tender coconut milk (for the first time) myself, Tender coconut ladoo (my own recipe)
\nAs thalipeeth is done with just one hole in center, my son suggested to make two holes instead to give it a face look \ud83d\ude42
\nI forgot to take picture of Puja thali with the ladoo, as we started with our Puja around 8-8:30 pm, after my husband returned from work. But, I had never seen anything so tender and white before, as the coconut milk and grated tender coconut, so when they were ready as ingredients to be used to make milk and ladoo, I clicked their picture.

\nI read that Red is the color for day 1. So here is my saree story thinking of the powers of Ma Shailputri.
