The saree was a classic then and continues to be one even today; one of those sarees that look elegant on simply everyone.<\/p>\n<p>Once again, this is my sister\u2019s saree, and I remember her buying this from an exhibition in Mumbai almost 25 years ago. She wore it a couple of times and then when I started draping sarees, I wore it several times as well, till one day it became mine \ud83d\ude42  Makes me think of how many of my sister\u2019s sarees I have inherited jabardasti! But that\u2019s a story I will save for another time.<\/p>\n<p>So it was this morning when I peeped into my wardrobe for a saree, that this one, right at the back beckoned to me\u2026 The silk of this saree is quite thin and with time, has worn out in quite a few places. As I examined it in the sunlight I could see the memories it has collected over several drapes with my Mom, sis and me over the years\u2026 that stubborn haldi stain from a cousin\u2019s pre wedding festivities, that hole in the pallu from the time it had got wedged into a door end, \u2026.<br \/>\nAnd I decided I must drape this today, before it gets too old to wear anymore. So off I went to work today, draped in this saree and a chunky red necklace to match. <\/p>\n<p>As it turned out, same evening I had to step out for an unplanned dinner with colleagues, at a very trendy restaurant.
