Hello friends. I joined this pact on 15th August, 2015 , our Independence Day. My first few posts have been on my Facebook page. Ally and Anju both suggested I post here and then link to Facebook. I believe I have joined at just the right time – for me. Since we celebrate the 10 days of Ganesh Chaturti, I am following my own tradition and wearing a saree a day! So it is going to be a bit of a glut for the first few days till I catch up and then get to a more natural-for-me pace of wearing sarees! I am going to be reproducing the text from my posts here!<\/p>\n
1\/100 – now that sounds a daunting target to achieve, even for a saree lover like me! But what better time than our Independence Day to begin? Thank you, my friend, Shanti Coimbatore for being the inspiration for this endeavour.<\/p>\n
Rich emerald green with a red border and a brilliant orange in the thread work design, this is a traditional Kanjeevaram Silk sari, bought in my favourite saree shop Radha Silk Emporium (Rasi) in Mylapore, Chennai. It has another tradition woven into its border and pallav – the Balucheri design based on the Ramayana.<\/p>\n
