We wear yellow and not red, for our vedic rituals in UP. It is known as a Piyari (literally meaning yellow cloth). I decided to include my favourite blue in the mix as I didn&#8217;t want to be one of the thousands wearing a yellow-red saree. It wasn&#8217;t the typical traditional choice for a piyari, but I&#8217;ve always been one to add my own touch to a tradition \ud83d\ude42<br \/>\nThe jewels are since locked away and replaced with imitation jewellery, but I still retain the most cherished heirloom maangteeka, and my red dupatta.
