\nFor me , Rakhi is not only about love between a brother and a sister but its also the love and bond between a nanand (husband’s sister) and a bhabhi. In Marwari’s the nanand ties a ‘Lumba’ (a kind of bangle-rakhi) to the bhabhi as a symbol of love and affection.My nanand’s takes lot of effort to search and get the best lumbas for us.<\/p>\n
In this picture you can see me with my devrani (mehndi green and red saree) and nanand (beige and black saree) and wearing our beautiful lumbas. It was a coincidence that all three of us were draped in six yards. Picture toh definitely banata hai!<\/p>\n
My saree is a result of the raid I did in my mother’s cupboard! \ud83d\ude42 It’s a pure crepe saree with Jamawar border and a long pallu. Earlier it’s was only grape green in colour and I was keen on adding a bright colour to it.
