The Adil family home rendezvous has become a regular on Eid. Every year, the gracious Adil sisters, Sahar Adil, Sama Adil & Ayesha Adil and their lovely parents, host us friends for a daawat. A huge table laid out with a sumptuous meal and careful care is always taken to ensure the few vegetarians in the group, like me, have enough choices too.
\nThe highlight of these afternoons is undoubtedly the food. But the special part of these afternoons are the people. Uncle & Aunty with their very refined taste, Uncle always looks dashing in his white kurta, and the daughters in their gorgeous festival clothes are the warmest, most delightful company.
\nThere is a tradition of the Eidi on this lovely festival that marks the end of Ramzaan. Eidi is a gift to small children by the other elders of the family.
\nWhat makes these afternoons extra special is the after party. Endless tiny cups of golden tea, brewed to perfection, with a hint of mint leaves and a catch up session amidst lots of giggles. A soul satisfying chai adda.

\nSaree #62 #100sareepact A cotton chettinad with subtle gold highlights. I’ve had the saree for a while but never worn it before.The saree is what I call “sparrow colours”, read dull, but I love it. Did away with a matching sparrow coloured blouse and went for royal blue. We were laughing so much, forgot to take a full length photo there…
