I used to have several salwar kameezes with this type of handicraft that I loved.<\/p>\n<p>However in Aligarh, they go a step further to add an amazing touch &#8211; te encase little sequins inside the pattis to add a muted shimmer that is so subtle, so discreet and delicate and so beautiful&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Many years ago when I saw some kurtis my sister in law had bought with this work on them, I instantly fell in love and asked my mother in law to get me a saree with this craft from Aligarh, which is the hometown for my inlaws. She got me this beautiful creamy white saree with the pattis in a soft beige and green, with touches of pink.<\/p>\n<p>I have been wanting to wear this saree for years, and especially since the saree pact began I have had this one in mind but couldn&#8217;t come up with the right way to wear it. Then today I pulled it out for Eid, for a family photo session with my inlaws, including my sis in law who is visiting from Canada.
