This is a beautiful Kanchipuram saree, that belonged to my late sister in law. Once when I visited her and was just looking at all her family pictures, I came across this saree which she had worn. This saree looked so beautiful, that I couldn’t stop raving about this saree to her. She always had excellent collection of Kanchipuram sarees, and she would wear them casually very often. I really loved this saree very much. She had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and after struggling with it for 3 years or so, she finally breathed her last.
\nAfter her death her daughter gave me this saree, saying that it was her mother’s wish that this saree should be handed over to me after her death. I couldn’t believe that she remembered that I liked this saree so much, and felt that I should have it after her.
\nSix months before her death we had become very close, and she was there to guide me at my daughter’s wedding. I was really touched by her gesture, and would always treasure this gift from her.
