That was the period of Shyam Benegal, Shabana Azmi, Smita Patil (to name a few) and handloom sarees&#8230;!! I had developed the love for the hand spun and hand woven textiles after taking training in textile designing and interning at weaver&#8217;s service center between 1977 and 1980&#8230;<br \/>\nOver the years this saree and me became inseperable until one day I lost the beaded blouse to my dhobi&#8230;.along with a few other handloom sarees&#8230;after that I did not feel like wearing it without its blouse as this always reminded me of the blouse I had lost&#8230;.!!<br \/>\nHowever today being the special day of joining all of you on this journey I thought of starting the 1st day with this saree not worrying about what blouse I was wearing it with&#8230;this day I dedicate to all the handloom weavers of our country, #100sareepact and all the women of the world &#8230;This photo is not good but the thought and the saree is&#8230;.cheers<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi all This saree has been one of my most favourite ones till date, from Odissa bought from one of the first National handloom textile expos held in Bhopal in 1980&#8230;.I had specially made a golden yellow blouse and did the glass beadwork on it myself.
