saree # 55 #100sareepact

The busy week at work continues, but now, reaching for a saree has become absolutely normal even on a busy day. Meetings, errands, and coming up, is a shoot. Chose to wear this Bomkai,( I think ), Orissa cotton to last the long day gracefully.

The specialty about these sarees is the intricate weave in the pallu and the border. Most often a contrast of colours from the body of the saree. I’m seeing flowers, ambis and fish on mine. A beautiful mesh of threads and design that makes the pallu heavy and very easy to manage.

I remember my Mom wearing this saree quite often to dinners and to go watch a few plays, in Bombay. The saree is soft from wearing.

Borrowed from my Ma’s cupboard, enveloped by her love.
